RTC Client 3.0 for Linux - Configuring Build Definition -
I am trying to configure RTC Client V3.0 in the Linux platform ( bundled with RDz for System z in Linux) to build to z/OS and I am having a weird problem.
Tried to follow the tutorial in the RTC Info Center , and in the lesson 10, to create a build definition, I found out that in the Build Definition wizard / editor I do not see the Build Agent Tab, is used to find it in RTC V2. Is the build agent configuration hidden somewhere? I appreciate if you could help. tks |

You're correct, there is no Build Agent Tab in Build Definition Editor now. You will need to create a "Build Engine" first. There is a Build Engines section under Builds. You can right click Build Engines and select New Build Engine. Then you could use the Build Agent Tab in Build Engine editor. Once your Build Engine is created. You can modify your Build Definition, in Overview tab, select the proper Build Engine in "Supporting Build Engines" section. Another way is to edit "Supported Build Definitions" in Overview tab of Build Engine editor, adding the Build Definitions you would like to run on the engine. Would you please point out what's the document link you're referring? So we could fix the doc and make it clear. |
Thanks, that explains my difficulty.
Yes, if this can be documented will be helpfull and the infocenter I am accessing is the IBM Info center site: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v3r0/index.jsp And the specific session I am reading is in Topic Tutorials->Get Started with Rational Team Concert on z/OS->Using Ant with Enterprise Extensions build to Compile a COBOL Application. By the way am I looking at the correct doc? |
Thanks, that explains my difficulty. You're using the correct link, but the content needs to be fixed to catch up with RTC 3.0. I have opened a defect against documentation to fix the content. https://jazz.net/jazz/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/172215 |
