Is Apache Tomcat fully supported for use in a production environment with RTC, or are there any limitations (like for Derby)?
In addition, is it possible to configure Apache Tomcat for and High Availability environment (like WAS)?

Yes, Tomcat is fully supported for use in a production environment.
But to my knowledge, no, you cannot configure Tomcat for High Availability.
