Plans does not show "Traceability" view

There are some project areas in RTC 3.0.1 in which the Plan would not show the newly available "Traceability view . Wouldn't this be available as default options in the drop down list? Or is there any criteria for this to be visible?

My best guess is that for projects based on old templates you would have to create the view mode manually.
