RTC create a component and usage question

Hi,

I am new to RTC and am trying to understand the concept of RTC in terms with clearcase

1. Who creates the Project/stream in RTC and how is it determined he as access to create project/stream. In clearcase it is cc admin

2. When a project/stream is created a default component is created in RTC. How to create an additional component. Is this component same as clearcase component i.e the root of checking in code

3. How can we create child streams in RTC is it possible like clearcase ?

4. How a parallel development takes place in RTC. How it inherits the BL code to new stream.

5.How an admin is determined for RTC i.e how can one declare himself as RTC admin

The questions seems to be basic i am going through the documentation of RTC, but i am confused at many places and am trying to relate this project/stream/component/parallel development with clearcase terms
so need help from you guys. Appreciate your help

Thanks
Mehul

1. A user requires repository admin permissions to create a project area. Once a project area is created, the project area has its own process permissions to restrict stream creation.

2. Additional components can be created in a stream or workspace editor.

3. I'm not familiar with ClearCase but you can duplicate a stream. Any changes in the original will need a user to flow them into the duplicated stream and vice versa.

4. Using a workspace, a user can flow changes from one stream to another. You may want to read the article on multi-stream development: https://jazz.net/library/article/40

5. A Jazz admin is set in a user's profile (this is the admin for project area creation). A project area admin is defined in the project area editor (this is for administrating the project area for things like process permissions and project roles).

WRT question 2, yes, an RTC component is virtually identical to a UCM
rooted component (RTC only supports a single level of composite
components, and RTC calls a composite baseline a "snapshot").

One suggestion: read the on-line help section titled "Jazz concepts for
Rational ClearCase users".
