Upgrade to 3.0.1 problem
Hi All
I am currently performing a test upgrade on a copy of our production server and have run in to a problem. When going to the jts setup page and clicking next there is no Public URI displayed and I am not able to edit anything. I get a message about a URI being generated automatically but when I click Test Connection it just hangs. I have noticed in a log the following: CRJAZ0304I The profile path "C:\PROGRA~2\IBM\JAZZTE~1\server\conf\qm\provision_profiles" does not exist. Check that the System Property "JAZZ_HOME" is set correctly. I performed this install as an upgrade and according to the documentation the context root should be jazz, not qm. In fact there is a jazz directory under "C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\JazzTeamServer\server\conf" instead of a qm one. I'm assuming this is part of the problem. Does anyone have any ideas? thanks. |

Hi Troy,
seems like when installing RQM 3.0.1 from Installation Manager , you did change the default value for "Common Configurations > Context Root Options" for "Use Rational Quality Manager 2.x context root". Which is the right choice for an upgrade from 2.x From this basis, I'd check the following points : Check #1 ) From your app server Admin console, check that JAZZ_HOME property is correct. It should look like : "file:///<RQM_301_install_folder>/server/conf" Check #2 ) From your app server Admin console, check that when you deployed the jazz.war (*) on your app server, you specified the right context root, i.e. : "/jazz" and not "/qm". E.g. in the Admin Console of WebSphere Application Server, this should be done at the "Map context roots for Web modules" step of the application installation process. Regards, Stphane (*): please note that in the case where you'd've installed RQM 3.0.1 with the default value for the Context root (3.x), the QM application could be found on your disk as "qm.war" instead. |
As I was reading your post, I noticed that you said that your performed this install as an upgrade. If this means that you used the 'update' wizard of Installation Manager, then you must perform the installation again. This option is not supported as an upgrade path to v3.0.1. In order to upgrade, you must perform a new installation of RQM v3.0.1 and then proceed with the upgrade steps described in the CLM 2011 infocenter: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v3r0m1/topic/com.ibm.jazz.install.doc/topics/c_upgrade_overview.html
