Dashboarding in Express

Will there be somewhat of dashboarding in RTC Express or will you need to use BIRT or something else to do reporting in the Express(-C) versions?

Jazz Dashboards and Jazz Reports are only available in Rational Team Concert Standard Edition. I'm not sure if you can get creative to use BIRT to make some reporting stuff show up in Rational Team Concert, but will pass on this thread to the Reports and Dashboards teams.

PS - For more info on licensing and editions, I recommend the following two docs:

Bill is correct, there is no built-in support for Reports (nor
Dashboards) in the Express or Express-C editions. While it's possible to
install BIRT (and DTP) into an RTC installation, I don't think will
necessarily give you what you're looking for - the Reports component in
Standard, while using BIRT, really provides (a) the Data Warehouse
component and (b) integration of BIRT report generation into the Jazz
server, rich client, and web UI. What kind of reports are you looking to
generate?

I was evaluating the different versions with a BP to see which version would suit them best. I was aware of the absence of dashboards in the Express(-C) version but I was looking for alternatives so they would be able to use the Express with somewhat of reporting...

What kinds of reports? What kind of data do you want to present?

At the moment it is pretty general. As we are positioning this towards the SMB market, some of the customers don't have the budget for the standard version so I was thinking on how to provide a 'reasonable alternative' for the dashboarding and reporting componenets...

The Team Central view in Team Concert has some similarities to Dashboard and provides some of the same information, though it is not available in the Web UI.
