Hi Pavithra,

The SCM command line tool comes with the Eclipse client. You'd need to install it on the machine. If you think there should be a simpler packaging for the tool, please don't hesitate to file a work item.

Thanks,

Ralph

Thank you, Ralph
There seems to be client for Eclipse IDE for Windows and Linux , client for Eclipse (p2 install) and extension install.
Which one would you recommend for installation?

Hi,

the only one that might work on AIX is the Linux one. Here is a link to something similar for Solaris: https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=4036&uid=swg21417308&context=SSCWRMP&cs=utf-8&lang=en&loc=en_US

Not sure it will work though. This might be something that needs to be added. If it does not work for you, please consider writing a work item.

I searched the web using "team concert install scm command line" and found several other links you might be interested as well.

Thanks,

Ralph

We just tarred the scmtools folder from our Windows eclipse install and installed onto Solaris with no problem at all. The only thing we had to do was a slight modification of the file lscm, scm.sh and scm.ini, specifying where java was.

Hi All,

SCM utility now works fine.

I extracted the scmtools folder from the linux zip file and changed the java path to the local java installation dir in scm.ini and scm.sh and removed the J9 related flags and made lscm point to scm.sh.

Works fine.

Thank you all.

Is there any open enhancement request to package SCM tools with Build
Engine instead just with RTC Client?

Thanks,

Chemi.

Hi Chemi,

The scmtools are already included in the build system toolkit for AIX PPC. When you get the AIX PPC build system toolkit zip and unzip, you will find them at the directory jazz/scmtools/eclipse/* .

Note that this is different than for Windows and Linux since the scmtools are included with the Eclipse client download for those platforms. AIX doesn't currently have an Eclipse client download/zip so the scmtools were added to the build system toolkit zip.

Hi,

Yes, this is the same for z/OS. The scm tools get installed with the build toolkit on z/OS.
