Hi, I'm attempting to install RTC (OS: Windows Server 2003, 32-bit Enterprise).

I'm using the installation manager ...and receive the following error:

"The com.ibm.team.install.calm package specified in ...\install-server.xml file cannout be found. The com.ibm.team.install.jfs.app.product-rtc-standalone package specified in ...\install-server.xml file cannout be found."

Has anyone else encountered this error? How do I resolve this issue?

Please advise

Hi

Check where you placed the installation files - are they in a long directory path (that exceeds the Windows 256 character limit)?

If that is ok -can you tell us a bit more about what version you are installing, and if you are using the Web Installer (where Installation Manager is getting the files from jazz.net).

Hey Anthony

Just to be sure I moved the files to "C:\" and got the same error.

I'm trying to install the latest version via the web installer.

One thing to be noted is that I'm never asked for my jazz.net login information, as expected.

Hi,

please specify which version you downloaded. I have not seen what you describe. Having said that the download pages list some tips for downloading. A download manager is generally preventing from broken downloads. The Windows ZIP tool is likely to break the unzipped files due to long path names. I typically use 7Zip, advised in the download page too, that works well and can cope with it.

Another option is using web install which has worked for me well too.

Thanks,

Ralph

So that sounds very odd.

Make sure you are really running the Installation Manager that came with the web installer download (I am sure you are - but pls check to be 100% sure). It is easy to make the mistake if you have other Installation Manager-installed software on your system.

Next thing is to check you are running the installer as an admin user. In WS2008 (for example) - you have to explicitly say Run As Administrator when you open a DOS shell then run the launchpad.exe from within the shell.

You should be prompted for the jazz.net password.

Try this and let us know how you are getting on.

Hey Anthony

I am using the running the "launchpad.exe" that came with the web installer zip file.

I ran as administrator, but was not prompted for a login and still received the same error.

Another thing to now note:

I received a warning message "The following repositories are not connected: -https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-team-concert/3.0/3.0/install-repository/rtc-offerings/repository"

So I typed that URL into my web browser and interestingly received the following message "Our apologies.... The page you requested cannot be found".

Thanks for your help, by the way.

Hi,

not sure whats wrong here. I would suggest to download the web or the full installer with a download manager, again. Use a zip tool that is suggested in the download instructions and try it again.

Thanks,

Ralph

So I finally downloaded the 3.0Fix1 using a download manager, but still received the same error message.

Then I tried the full installer, which took a few hours to download. I then extracted all, but got an error message that some files could not be found. And of course, the file(s) that could not be found... are the ones I need. So I got halfway through the installation process before I threw an error message that "...win.32.zip" could not be found.

My last resort is to try using the 7zip that Ralph mentioned...

I would assume that others are having issues as well, since there's a whole section dedicated to "Download Tips".

Any idea which release will have a "stable" download and installation method?

Thanks and have a great weekend

Hi Akilah,

honestly I have almost never any issue with downloading and installing from any location and I do install very often. Even from home I never have any problems. At least not using a download manager such as Free Download Manager and 7Zip.

I have seen posts from users having issues in the past and we tried as good as possible to test and improve for that. I haven't seen any complaints recently.

I have also downloaded and installed 3.0 iFix1 several times. I am not sure what the issue is for you though.

Please keep us updated.

Thanks,

Ralph
