Help importing a Word doc

I have exported a word using the Export to File option

When I select the Export to Repository option, I cannot connect. I get back Could not retrieve projects, Check login messages.

I have entered the correct Server and port number, and have checked that I can log into the server from the machine I am using. I give my credentials, but I notice that the User Name is pre-populated with ADMIN.

Do you really have to be an Admin user to be able to import a document? I checked the documentation and it says my user credentials should be OK.

What else can I try? When I login to my RQM server using the Web console, I get a list of 3 projects available to me... so these are what I was expecting to see in the Prioject drop down

Did you include the context root? For example:

https://<host>:<port>/<context>

You do not need the ADMIN user to import. It is pre-populated for convenience.

What is the result of clicking Validate?

I do not see a Validate option on the dialog?

I do not see a Validate option on the dialog?

I note that put the full path in as you have it above: https://<host>:<port>/<context> (which in my case is: <mchineName>:<port>/qm/web/console/). In notice that this gets cut down to https://<machineName> only.

I also notice that if you try to delete the https pre-populated string, you get very strange behaviour!

Note, I am using the RQM Word/Excel Importer from RQM 3.0.1 RC3.

The Validate button is in the Export to RQM dialog that appears will selecting RQM --> Export to Repository in Word.

For the RQM 3.0.1 URL, you should only have <mchineName>:<port>/qm (assumming you installed RQM 3.0.1 with the default context root of 'qm').

Deleting the RQM Server field will cause the default value (https://localhost:9443/qm) to be displayed. Entering any non-URL value will cause the default value (https://<non>:9443/rqm) to be displayed. Note, the context root (rqm) is incorrect since it should be qm, by default (see defect https://jazz.net/jazz02/web/projects/Rational%20Quality%20Manager#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=51967).

Can you export to a file? If so, try to import the XML file into RQM from the UI.

It turns out I had to install a later release of the Word Importer and this got me going...

However, working out the config files is another thing altogether... another topic of discussion, not relevant for this post...

Thank you for your help Paul
