errors on bugzilla export to xml when attachments present

I'm using the bugzilla export/import to xml/zip format wizard. I'm trying to use the two step method with options-> save as xml on the export from bugzilla, then planning to import from the resulting xml/zip using the data mapping.

I'm getting a number of errors like this in my summary report from the export step:
Exception while importing bug 6
java.Lang.NullPointerException

The corresponding bug#.xml file is missing from the zip.
Each bug # that generated this error seems to have attachments. I haven't proven yet that its a one-to-one correlation between bugs with attachments and this error, but the ratio seems about right to jump to that conclusion.

Client:
Rational Team Concert
Version: 3.0
Build id: RTC-I20101112-1731
on Mac OS.

Have tried with and without authentication. No difference.

There are enough of them that manually generating the missing ones is going to be prohibitive.

Any ideas or recommendations?

The export from bugzilla to the zip file was fixed in RTC 3.0 client, ifix1.

Now fighting with the import side into RTC - also failing when attachments present:
