Alert on Workitem creation/update

I have created a "New query feed subscription" in Team artifacts view. On the eclipse client->Team dashboard I have configured the event log and selected the above Feed. When a new workitem is created in a project, I see the event log updated for the new WI.

But I also need to add an alert (E.g. fly-outs on the lower right corner in the client). I don't know how to configure preferences->Notifications->feed to make this work.
