iRAM Forum enhancements
This requests is from an iRAM esteemed customer.
1) Are there plans to implement changes needed to make the iRAM forum more manageable,
2) are these activities too far in the future?
3) can we consider third party software for this option.
We know the BluePedia team are looking to possibly implement Commentr.

We are using the forum to manage requests. Currently there is no way to organize entries and move items to a closed status yet keep them available for user reference. There needs to be an easy way for posters to be notified of the status of their request without creating a cut and paste to a separate e-mail
Hi,
You are looking for something like Team Concert where you can use work
items to control the lifecycle and move through states and notify when
things are changed.

iRAM users have been working with our iRAM Forum for about a year and theer are 84 topics (plus replies). We do not want to delete any topics and this has created a very messy list that is difficult to manage. We are using some old fashioned techniques - like appending letters in front of the Topic description BUT............. Just a few enhancements would improve the management of an iRAM Community Forum:
(1) Add a Category to a topic that can be edited by the Administrator - this would allow topics to be sorted/grouped
As an example I would categorize the topics on our forum into these areas
New Request
Discussion
Working
Closed
(2) When the email to option is used from the Topic - automatically copy the Topic to the email subject and create a link to the entry in the forum
(3) Allow a Discussion post Cancel Option - not just a Create
(4) When you click on a Topic - do not automatically go to the Discussion Post Option - sometimes people just want to look - now they are placed in edit mode and there is no way to cancel
(5) Add a tag feature to allow for searching similar to the community itself
In lifecycles, it was our understanding that when we are adding collaborators/reviewers in any particular state then only we get No. of Approvals condition in the next transition. But we are facing the issue in one lifecycle.
One user did not added collaborators in either the "Review State" or the "Approve State" in one of her Life cycle process. Then also the condition for "Number of Approvals" was available in Approve Transition without adding collaborators in either state.
In one other lifecycle, even when the user added collaborators in the Review state, then also No. of Approvals condition is not coming in the next transition.
Please clarify what should be the expected behavior in these cases?
If needed we will raise it as a bug.
Thanks in advance.

On Sep 08, 2011, during iRAM Stakeholders meeting with community leads, Peggy Grambo, once again picked up user concern of need of an effective iRAM forum, to increase its usability.
The current Forum features is missing on features like-
1) TAG of forum items
2) Sorting facilities
3) Subscribing to comments on the forum
Once such features built in, Forum will have more takers as it enables users to relate to several comments, subscribe, sort, relate and act as needed in best interest of the community the end users and ultimately to the organization.
