Multiple LDAP Auth

Rogério Ramos da Silva (3352827) | asked Apr 11 '11, 5:15 p.m.
Hi all,

At this topic http://jazz.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15811 there is a comment saying that RAM doesn't work well with federated repositories.

The federeated repositories appears to be the right and unique solution to use 2+ different LDAP servers.

What is the best solution, if there is one, to authenticate on two or more different LDAP servers?

Hi,

RAM won't work like you want when you use a federated repository of more
than one LDAP. Even though someone from the extra LDAPs can login RAM
won't be able to recognize the user nor search for the user. It only
knows one LDAP, the one configured on the RAM Configuration page. There
is no way to get RAM to recognize anything other than the one LDAP
repository.

In addition,

the solution being discussed in the forum was to have one file
repository and one LDAP repository in a Federated. RAM would be
configured to use just the LDAP repository while RTC was using the file
repository. No one should ever sign into RAM using the user from the
file repository.

This configuration has not been officially confirmed to work.
