Using Asset Templates

Dr. Hans-Joachim Pross (1.1k4458) | asked Mar 25 '11, 8:27 a.m.

I would like to have an asset template (to be used with the duplicate functionality) for specific asset for my community. Those templates should have some tags attached.

When I use this template with the duplicate functionality, the tags are not copied.

Is there a way, to "reuse" the tags from an asset template?

How can I apply tags directly when creating an asset?

Hi,

Tags are not copied with an asset. This is because tags are added by
different users, there would be no way to know which are truly relevant
to a copy.

If you are doing this through Java API then you can add tags through the
API. There isn't a way to have it done automatically through the Web.

Tags are social tagging (similar to rating), and hence are not duplicated. Categories on the other hand are.
