RTC as a ClearQuest replacement
I have a customer situation where they want to use RTC as a strict rip-and-replace replacement for ClearQuest. As you can imagine, they have a very detailed CQ schema(s) with lots of CQ scripts and 100s of thousands of existing records.
This does not sound like an optimal RTC sweet spot, but I was wondering if anyone has written up anything on what cannot be done in RTC that you can do in ClearQuest and also anything around how to accomplish something like this in RTC (such as one big project area, etc.).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

The conversion of the hooks to RTC process actions would be the bulk of
the work. Another place to investigate is the use of stateless records
and see how they would be modeled in RTC.

I implemented a customized workitem type in RTC as internal change management system in my company. Here are some the issues I faced, this environment is currently on RTC 2.0.0.2 iFix 2.
1. One major drawback of RTC compared to ClearQuest is it doesn't support adding dependency between fields, if a particular value is selected for Field1 the enumeration values for dependent_Field1 should be modified.
2. Length of fields dispalyed in the presentation cannot be customized.
3. Inconsistent behaviour of some workitem fields between RTC Eclipse client and the Web UI.
4. E-mail notification for workitems is not as flexible as in ClearQuest.
Thanks
