Upgrade RTC 2 p2 client in RSA 8 to version 3?
I installed the RTC 2 client via the p2 process into my RSA 8. I am looking to upgrade the RTC client to version 3, but can't seem to find a good way to remove the RTC 2 client. Searching for updates at the RTC 3 p2 site does not seem to work. There are many bundles installed with the RTC 2 p2 and I tried to uninstall various subsets, but with no luck.
Any tips?

Hi
Did you try restarting RSA with the -clean option after uninstalling the p2 bits? This forces Eclipse (and RSA) to reread the plugins.

I did not actually uninstall any p2 bits because I couldn't figure out which combination of plugins to uninstall. Any I tried (such as "Rational Team Concert Product Feature") gave me the following error message:
"Rational Team Concert Product Feature" cannot be fully uninstalled because other installed software requires it. The parts that are not required will be uninstalled.

I don't think that is an error as such - more a warning that not all the bits will be removed. I was looking up info on the p2 installer technology - and it talks about shared "components" being used to reduce the number of plugins installed.
However, let's see if someone from the dev team can comment on the correct way to uninstall a p2 installation of RTC.

I also opened up a defect (https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Rational%20Team%20Concert#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=154213) and the initial suggestion there is to use the installation history and revert to a snapshot before I installed the RTC client. The downside to this would be also removing anything else I've installed since then.
I'm bumping this thread - we are also having this problem.
We have a bunch of developers with the RTC v2 plug-in installed into RSA or RAD 8. So far no one has been able to get the v2 plug-in to uninstall, so we can't get the v3 plug-in installed. The only solution that has worked for us is to re-install RSA or RAD. Argh!

Removing the p2 folder wasn't a clean uninstall of RTC.
RSA 8.0.4 did come up without an error and didn't ask for RTC credentials (good). But, when I went to help/About .../Installation details - it gave me an error.
So, I would not trust RSA configuration at this point to add additional plug-ins.
I decided to uninstall RSA and then reinstall - what a pain!!!
This should have been tested because there is no way to install RTC4 Client without first removing the prior versions. And that uninstall is not available!
