Sharing queries between project areas

Anders Truelsen (16212020) | asked Feb 03 '11, 3:35 a.m.
Hi Folks

Is there any way I can share queries between project areas?

I have a good set of queries in one project and I need a way to reuse those queries in another similar project, any ideas?

sincerely yours

Hi Anders,

to my knowledge this is unfortunately not possible. A query lives in the project area. I don't know of a way how to export the query definition to be able to import it somewhere else either.

I think you will have to manually recreate the queries. It might be possible to add these queries to the project initialization of the process template for new projects, but I have to confess I haven't tried that yet.

Hi Ralph

Thanks for a very prompt answer :-)

That was my conclusion as well.
I'll submit it as an Enhancement to see what development thinks of the idea.

You can add new queries in the configuration template > configuration data > work items > Predifined Queries..... and it works...

Maybe you can also inherit from a master project. I have never tried this capability.

This is work item 62555.
It is not currently planned for any release.

Cheers,
