Using Notes8 instant messaging with Jazz

I have the internal IBM Notes8 client installed and wanted to use this with Jazz instead of Sametime standalone client. However, there is no Tools menu that I can find that allows me to configure Notes8 in the manner describe in the RTC client install guide. Any suggestions? many thanks anthony |

The upcoming M3 build will include support for installing the Jazz/Sametime integration into Notes 8.

Thanks for the reply - missed your reply before this morning. I tried to use the info in the regular ST client - but Notes does not display the settings in the same manner as ST. anthony |

Just seen the latest installation instructions at https://jazz.net/learn/LearnItem.jsp?href=content/docs/client-install/index.html. You can find the Notes8 info if you search for Notes My current build (M2a) does not let you use Notes 8 - when you install the plugin as suggested - it reports the following: Requested operation cannot be performed because it would invalidate the current configuration. See details for more information. Synchronous Collaboration Sametime Broker (0.6.0.200708091735) requires plug-in "com.ibm.collaboration.realtime.jsthelper". Sametime Broker (0.6.0.200708091735) requires plug-in "com.ibm.collaboration.realtime.brokerbridge". Synchronous Collaboration Sametime UI (0.6.0.200708091735) requires plug-in "com.ibm.swt.xulrunner". Are the instructions out of synch with the current build on the download page, or perhaps I have the wrong Notes8 client version. I am trying to copy the relevant plugins to Notes8 by hand in the hope this will work - but no luck so far. regards anthony |

Just tried M3 and still getting problems hooking up to Notes8. Now it seems I am missing com.ibm.micro. This could just well be my setup - I will do a search on the bug tracking system and see if I can find any clues.

Notes8 doesn't ship with the three following plug-ins: - com.ibm.micro - com.ibm.collaboration.realtime.brokerbridge - com.ibm.collaboration.realtime.brokerbridge.constants These plug-ins are included with Sametime and are required for the Jazz integration. We are working on a solution for this problem. --erich |

Is there a Work Item number we can use to follow this work? I did re-open 29657 https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Jazz%20Project#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=29657 but not seen that being altered. If I can help testing anything out - please let me know - be glad to help. anthony |
