Make a Category Schema as Required?

Marco De Gregorio (111) | asked Jan 13 '11, 5:51 a.m.
When submitting a new asset I need to make sure the user will be forced to specify a categorization (based on the asset type of course). In RAM 7.5 you can configure Attribute and Relationships as 'required' items (mandatory) but how about the category schemas? In my team is very important to associate a classification to each asset...

Thanks, Marco

Hi,

There currently isn't any required categorizations. I believe there may
be a policy in 75 (or it may be in 7501) that allows you to verify if a
categorization has been set. This would run after the asset has been
submitted/updated and could generate an error response if not set.

We are going away with the requirements to dot/cross every thing when you initially create an asset ... and have a "draft" state (asset will potentially not be visible to everyone) where you can construct the asset ... in this state you can add the Categorize Asset Policty that will require you to set one (with more policies) or more categories. ... the lifecycle will not let you move to the "publish" or "approved" state in this case, where the asset is now pkged. correctly.
