Questions on BF's email notifications
I am trying to determine what would be the best to implement the email notification of completed/failed job to an individual user.
Questions: 1) Can the dot command, .email , use different mail template other than the default one? 2) Can the Pass Notify and Failed Notify settings at both project and step level changed dynamically during the execution of a job? Thanks |

I am trying to determine what would be the best to implement the email notification of completed/failed job to an individual user. step and project notify settings cannot be modified after the start of the job. If you need to dynamically determine email destinations, .email looks to be your best bet. If you're wanting to specify a template on the .email command-line, you cannot. .email only takes a recipient (buildforge user, or valid email address) and it uses the pre-assigned step email mail template. |

Hello,
The option "Step .email Message" under "Type" drop down menu while creating a new Template (under Projects link in Management Console) is not available. All our Build Forge servers are running 7.1.1.4-0148 version but not all of them are showing the same issue. This option is available on some of them but not on all. Any ideas? Thanks Saurabh |
Hello, Hi Saurabh, On the servers where you don't have the "Step .email Message" under "Type" drop down, did you perform a migration of data from a previous release of Build Forge? If so, I wrote the defect linked below a while back based off a similar question in this forum. https://jazz.net/jazz08/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/17759 Brent Ulbricht Developer/Lead - RTC Build |
