Problems upgrading To RTC V2 IFIX 4
Hi Folks, when moving from RTC V2 IFIX3 to IFIX 4 I used the repotools utility to archive the IFIX3 repository, which I then improted into the IFIX 4 repository. Everything went across fine apart from the users. The users were imported into the new repository but when I try to edit them I get the following message:
"This user was not found in the directory service. This user will not be able to login unless they have an account in the directory service."
Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
Kind Regards
Russell

Hi Russel,
you shouldn't have to use the repotools for that upgrade. Usually it is documented in the available documentation (release notes, upgrade, etc from the download page) what to do e.g. create new tables or add tablespces.
I haven't done this upgrade myself, but dependent on which install and how you install (Installation Manager or ZIP) the configuration files have to be backed up and provided to the update. This includes the tomcat-users.xml.
I am not sure the repotools user import is supposed to recreate the users in tomcat. I would assume it only creates the users in the RTC database. This would be consistent to your observation.

I fixed this problem by copying the <jazz>\server\tomcat\conf\tomcat-usrs.xml file from the RTC V2 Ifix 3 over to the RTC V2 Ifix 4 file. I am not sure if this is the best way to solve this particular problem but it seemed to work
Hi Ralph, thanks for your reply. Next time I will ensure all the configuration files are backed up.
