Command Line Login Authentication for RTC

The-Binh Le (3334) | asked Aug 26 '10, 5:27 p.m.
We use curl to interface with our RTC defect tracking system. The issue is since we use LDAP for authentication on RTC, we have used a personal intranet id for RTC authentication, which is kind of awkward. Is there a way to do the same without using a personal intranet id? Any reply is much appreciated.

Unfortunately there is no secret admin account, or secondary ACL/domain/built-in mechanism in RTC.
Once you pick 'some method for authentication', you are bounded by the rules of that method.  eg: LDAP.
Your best bet would be to create an intranet id that is a service ID within your organization, like monitoring@for.me.com, and use that account exclusively for monitoring.
