SCRUM Candy?
Hi, I've been evaluating Jazz for our company, and I despite some beta kind of stability/usability issues, I really think Jazz is on the right path.
However, many of our managers are enthused with SCRUM, and even though I belive Jazz can be used within SCRUM oriented teams, without the "candy" of burn down charts, or an explicit task board etc. I think Jazz may not appear as appealing to them as it could. Someone must have done some plugins for SCRUM charts and stuff. Can anyone point me to any existing plugins for that kind of stuff? Even if its in beta form; its enough to show that Jazz is on the right track kind of thing. Thanks for any tips! (^_^)/ mike. |

Hi, I've been evaluating Jazz for our company, and I despite some beta Hi Mike, In the Reports component, we've recently created a couple of new reports that may be useful for Scrum users. One is the Sprint Burndown, and the other is Closed Work Items Daily. These will be shipped in M6, and they're already deployed to jazz.net if you'd like to try them out. We're evaluating other reports that are commonly used in Scrum - if you have any particular suggestions I'd be happy to hear them. james Jazz Reports Team Lead |
Excellent! This is good to hear, one of the things we are hoping for is that Jazz is kind of still in a stage where the development is open to suggestions. I'll go look for those reports I hadn't noticed them on first glance.
What about a task board? I know there is news/event feed, and you can query for work items, and go grab stuff to work on from the project, but...an actual graphic board of items to work on would very familiar to some of our SCRUM users. Its just a question of presentation; instead of a query and list, having (for example) a view of post it notes for you project, each one representing a task that can be grabbed to work on. I'm not quite that deep into evaluating the workflow yet, but I know for sure our JIRA users are going to be looking for a task board of some kind. Part of our evaluation is having to deal with existing groups who have bought various SCRUM tools already :( Eventually we would like one tool to rule them all ;) Thanks! (^_^)/ mike. |
We have been exploring a scrum process template and associated artifacts. You might find this wiki page of interest. Feedback on what you see here and the prototype team process template would be greatly appreciated.

Mike, in addition to the reports that James mentioned
we now also have an early version of a Scrum process template. The template and how to use it are described here: https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/ScrumProcessTemplate There is currently no task board presentation. However, there is the plan editor which makes it easy to grab stories/tasks, drag them onto a sprint plan, colorize them according some criteria, etc. I'll attach a screenshot. Finally, we are always interested in feedback. --erich Jazz PMC dinobot71 wrote: Excellent! This is good to hear, one of the things we are hoping for |
Awesome, I looked through the prototype description and it looks like good first cut. Have a nice task board will be a big thing for I suspect, but this definitely shows a good start on SCRUM stuff.
