RQM filter/search generates blank pages

On panels such as View Test Plans, View Test Scripts, View Test Execution Records, when I type in a filter, the resulting display can seem to indicate that there are no results found. In point of fact, there ARE results, it's just that they are displayed on subsequent pages. It's almost as if the filter is only being applied to what is displayed on the current page. I have counseled several people here in my office because they thought their test plan had been deleted!

Apparently the "correct" way to display ALL items that match a particular filter is to click the "Show Filters" icon which is displayed on the same line as the labels for the columns and type your filter into the appropriate box and hit the Run button. For such a common operation, this seems like way too many steps but it's the only alternative to scrolling through lists of empty screens if you use the other filter.

Would it be possible to improve the filtering behavior, or to restore the previous (2.0) behavior? (Note: We are running 2.0.1)

Thanks,
Markus

The table text filter filters on the client data. With the server side paging enhancement in 2.0.1, the client data is only a page at a time, not the entire data set. That is why some of the pages have no result but can be in the coming pages.

This issue is already addressed in 2.0.1 iFix 2 to change the text filter to filter on the server side. See work item 31354 for more details.

Server side paging has made this almost completely useless. It in one

build did say filter this page but I just checked and it is gone now. I
had opened a workitem on this before it shipped. Please don't ask to
restore old behavior as the new behavior was desperately asked for. It
only takes a little while to get used to it.

I want to re-emphasize Paul Chu's comment:
Starting with 2.0.1 iFix02 the Text Filter works across ALL artifacts; not just those that are currently displayed. You now have the huge performance benefits of paged data as well as the user experience you're accustomed to.

Thanks for your comments. I understand that the problem I posted has been
fixed in 2.0iFix2. I will see if our installation can be upgraded.

Kind regards,
