Ask a question

one eclipse workspace can't see reports, another can

John Kohl (1461815) | asked May 04 '10, 4:40 p.m.
I have RTC installed as a plug-in to an existing eclipse shell (Windows
XP 32-bit)
Version: 2.0.0.2
Build id: I20100331-2220

When I try to view my reports, shared reports, or report templates using
my standard eclipse workspace and connected to a particular project
area, I get nothing at all (empty folders).

But when I create a new eclipse workspace, and connect to the same
repository/project area with same username and password, I can see
reports just fine.

Any ideas how to fix the first workspace to work properly?

Hi John

So if I have understood this correctly, you connected to the repository and project, you loaded it into your local repo workspace - and the folders under the project name (Reports, Source Control, etc) are there but are empty.

Is that correct?

If so - see if going to Windows->Preferences->Team Source Control and select Repair metadata. Note you may need to resolve changes via Pending Changes after this.

Sorry, no, this is not any source I'm working with, this is the Team
Artifacts view, under "Project Name"->Reports->{My Reports,Shared
Reports,Report Templates}

I have work item reports (e.g. burndown chart) in the repository, I just
can't see them using this particular eclipse workspace.
Using the web interface to the same project area, or using a new eclipse
workspace, I can see and run the reports.

In the first case, does the "Reports" node apear in the Team Artifacts
view at all?

In the Team Artifacts view, check the filter in the triangle pull-down
menu. It affects which reports show up. Also check the checkbox which
controls whether archived artifacts are shown.

That was it, thanks! I had somehow gotten set to "my filter" and the
project area was not selected in it.
(FYI, the Report nodes and its children showed up, but the children are
all empty until the filter matches something.)
