Export and import custom process template
Hi,
How can I export a custom template as a zip file to distribute it and
import it? I have found the menu to import a template but not how to
export a custom template (I can only import predefined templates)
I have copy and paste the process configuration source directly in the
Project Area Tab but this is not a "clean" method.
Could it be possible to export and import just part of the customized
process? For example, create a custom work item from scratch, export
just this part of the customization and import this new work item into
an existing process?.
Thanks,
Ana

Ana,
you can export the template from the eclipse client. Select the Project and rightclick. On the kontext menu select Create Process Template.
You can then choose File>Export>Proccess Template.... to export it and package it as archive. I think you can only export the complete template.

Many thanks for your quick response Ralph.
Although it is not the perfect solution I have found that you can see
the history of all changes made to a process template (right click->
history) and then you can compare (in text mode yet unfortunately) all
changes made to the process. At least this can give me an idea of what
has been customized in the template...
Perfect solution would be to have the ability of merging process
templates. I will check if there is WI already created for it and if not
I will submit and ER.

Hi Ana,
I did not find a WI for merging process templates, so I created work
item 111668. Please review that to make sure it captures what you were
looking for.
