Is there a way to edit test scripts steps during execution

During test execution of manual test scripts, the testers are finding errors in the details within the test scripts andswant to go into the script to correct the problem, but you cannot seem to be able to do this when executing the test script manually.

There normal practice in the past has been to update the test script steps as they go. There is some level of frustration now the need to stop test execution, manually going back to the test case and update the test script, then restarting the test again.

In the perfect world we'd have perfect test scripts, all reviewed and right before executing, but the reality is that things get missed and changes need to be made. If the level of churn is low, this wouldn't be a problem but if it's high, stopping and starting constantly becomes an issue as it's seen as wasting precious time.

Does anybody have any suggestions on a work around or alternatives to reduce the test script maintenance churning besides "get it right the first time" :)

That sounds like a great enhancement request Shane. You should definitely file it. I agree with you in that it can be quite frustrating if users are constantly finding mistakes in their test scripts during execution and they then have to stop execution to edit the test scripts.

Justin
