Steps to change ports for an existing RRC server
Hi
Running 2.0.0.1 server on Linux with Tomcat - all working fine on port 9443. I want to alter the port to another one (443 as it happens). I followed instructions here:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=3488&context=SSCP65&dc=DB560&dc=DB520&uid=swg21327690&loc=en_US&cs=UTF-8&lang=en&rss=ct3488rational
and changed the port numbers on the server.xml file.
Now when I try and access the RRC server via a browser (ie https://localhost:443/rdm/web/rrc) we only see the words loading... on the screen and nothing else.
Are there any other config files we need to change?
thanks
anthony

Have you updated the Public URI and port numbers on the advance properties page of the Jazz/Admin as well?

I'm working on this with Anthony... I have checked and this is set to the appropriate URI as is the URL HTTPS Address. I can access Jazz server on 443 fine its just RRC that seems to be failing.

I was wondering the same thing, but wondering more about changing the DNS name once we received it.
I don't know and I haven't tested, but I would believe the instance would need to be re-provisioned. From the past I was able to accomplish this by re-installing, but my best guess would be changing the server.xml file to use the correct ports, then:
Delete the "localhost" folder within:
- RRCS20\server\tomcat\work\Catalina
Delete the "jazz" and "rdm" folder within:
- RRCS20\server\tomcat\webapps
I haven't tried this, but I do know that in a couple of fixes I have had to work on, they involved deleting these folders - so if you decide to try make sure its on a test system.
Here are 2 technotes that contain some relevant info:
Changing the server name or IP address of an Rational Requirements Composer server

I have followed the instructions in those notes, and I am seeing exactly the same problem as described above. Was there a resolution to this issue? Being able to access RRC using the default port (443) is critical to us since we have customers who have serious issues about punching holes in their firewalls.
