New attributes for existing workitems

We have the need to add a couple of workitems to Stories and Defects. I made all changes in the process configuration but the new fields only show up in new workitems.
Is there a way to have them show up in existing workitems ?

Hi, this is a common question and you could probably find it searching this forum quite a few times 8-)

Create a query that selects the work items you want to be updates. The query should show the work item type. Selet all work items in the query result. Right-click the work items type icon and select "Synchronize Attributes".
