Ranking Number

I understand that we can change the ranking of work items by dragging and dropping in a plan. However, will we be able to get a # that represents the ranking after doing all the drag&drop?
I tried adding "Rank" in Project Area > Configuration Data > Planning > Plan Attributes > Attribute Mapping, and then add "Rank" to my plan's view layout, however, instead of getting a number, I got something like "priority.literal.l11 Nooooo". What do I suppose to see for the "Rank" column? I am using RTC Client 2.0.0.1. Thanks.

On a related issue, I need to extract a list of work items (stories)
from a plan, and keep them in the ranking order I've created in RTC.
How can I do this? It would seem I need to query all items planned for
the iteration in question, but there's no way to get the rank into query
results for export.
Help?
My ultimate goal is to see the ranked ordering of plan items vs. a
predictive burndown velocity chart, to see which items will make the
release date for each of several velocities (best guess, pessimistic,
optimistic). I could do this manually if I can compute the story point
totals for each story and all the higher-priority stories, or all the
lower priority stories. But the ranking is crucial to figuring this
out.

It's possible found the ranked ordering of plan items of work items directly from
I try to create a custom report for calculate "Where we'll fall" using the team velocity (avg and maximum) and remaining days and would like to take work items in accordance with their ranking in my plan.
Thanks
