How to set an EWM project to READ-ONLY mode without modifying permissions?

Description:

We are looking for a way to set an IBM EWM project area to a read-only state after project closure or migration (e.g., to Jira).

The goal is to:

- Prevent any further modifications (work items, plans, etc.)

- Keep the project accessible for reference (read-only)

Constraints:

- Do NOT want to modify or revoke user permissions (managed externally via oneIDM)

- Project may use process sharing (template -> child projects)

- Need to avoid impacting other projects

Questions:

- Is there any built-in or recommended approach in EWM to enforce a read-only state without changing permissions?

- Can this be achieved via process configuration (e.g., workflows, operation behavior)?

- Are there best practices for "freezing" a project in EWM in such scenarios?

I would just set the Everybody Role's permissions to nothing, and then remove all the roles from the users in the project area. You're not changing the external user permissions, you're just removing their roles in the project area, which reverts the permissions to that of the Everybody role.

Easy to add roles back as needed later on
