RTC Password reset Notification Issue

Vaishnavi Narasimhan (11112) | asked Nov 21, 12:50 a.m.

Hi Team

Recently we are facing an issue where a user gets a notification from RTC on password expiry/reset, wherein the email comes everyday even after changing the password.

Some user have confirmed that they are receiving notifications everyday for weeks even after changing the password multiple times. Attached image for reference.
Please advise how this issue can be resolved.

For all I know, RTC/EWM or any other Jazz application do not care for password expiration.
The Jazz Applications delegate authentication to an LDAP or JAS (which uses a user registry e.g. LDAP). If you have implemented password expiration, you have implemented it on the user registry level. EWM does not know anything about all this. The user logs in, which succeeds or not based on the user registries decision. So you need to investigate on your user registry/LDAP level.

Thanks for your response, Ralph!

Would you know if there any support channel or any point of contact from the user registry/LDAP team.

How would I know who runs your companies LDAP systems? You should talk to your infrastructure team or your administration users.

Is this ELM on SaaS hosted by IBM by any chance? And did they set up a UAT environment for you?

I've seen this issue when it's IBM's SaaS offering and there's a UAT, which has a replicated LDAP directory. The passwords expire in Production and get updated but the UAT still thinks they are expired and sends emails. If this is the case, log a ticket and tell them to turn it off in UAT

Thanks a lot Davyd.
Can you let me know where we can log the ticket for such cases?

Log it with IBM Support - standard problem ticket
