RQM Version, iFix correlation to build info

I just applied RQM 2.0.0.1 iFix002 to our server, yet when I check Help-->About in RQM, I see the same version and build information as before (Version 2.0.0.1, Build ID I20091123_1429).

Is there a table or list which maps the version of RQM seen on something like IBM Installation Manager (which is only visible to administrators who have access to the server), versus what shows up in the Help-->About information in the RQM UI (which includes build info but not iFix, and would be the only way an end user could find it)?

If not, a FAQ page on this site may prove useful going forward for the community...

A comment specifically for the development team: my team has had numerous PMRs in the past with Rational support where we were asked "what version of ClearQuest are you running?". There were too many ways to determine a "version", and not every support rep seemed to know which one was needed:

1) Open a command prompt, run "clearquest -ver"
2) Open ClearQuest, provide screenshot of "Help-->About"
3) In CQ, go through "Help->Software Updates->Manage Configuration"
4) IBM Installation Manager "View Installed Packages"

These often produced different results, and when asked for a version and we provided one with "Method X", we frequently lost a day waiting for support to come back with "No, please provide via method Y or Z".

With RQM in its early stages it would seem like a good time to establish a more concise method for end users to communicate back to support.

Respectfully,

David

Hi David,
You're not the first to be confused by the IM vs. "About RQM" discrepancy. In the words of the PHB from Dilbert, "there are excellent reasons for this policy and I hope to one day know what they are". In all seriousness, The versions should always align other than the timestamp at the end. The format is YYYYMMDD_HHMM.
Also, another verification technique is the server console window. Very early on after starting RQM it will display the "IM Version" in the console.
I have not installed iFix02 yet myself so I can't say definitively either way but if the version is the same as iFix01 then I'd be surprised and we screwed up. Are you sure you did a server reset (admin/cmd/requestRest) when applying the patch?
Regards,
John

It will say I20091214_0623 if you have successfully applied iFix02 to

the server. Make sure you have done the server reset.

Could have sworn the server reset had been executed, but apparently we hadn't done it right (I remember entering the URL, but not clicking the "Request Reset" button). Thanks for the reminder on that...ran it again. Now, the Help-->About in RQM report v2.0.0.1, Build ID I20091214_0623.

Installation Manager does show iFix002 explicity.

Thanks again!
