Linking between GC enabled and non GC enabled projects

Ramya Mohan (1315) | asked Jul 18, 2:58 a.m.
Hello,

We have enabled GC for newer projects that we created in EWM, ETM and Doors Next applications. Some of these projects would still need to establish linking with legacy projects that are not enabled with global configuration. It's not possible for us to force these legacy projects to go to GC all at once and this would take quite some time(depending on the validity of these projects). We are well aware that this type of linking is not supported out of the box and its one of the limitations to be considered before enabling GC but we are now in a situation to somehow establish linking between GC enabled projects and the legacy projects (using a hyperlink or any attribute which holds the link to the other project which is non-GC enabled). Does anyone have done anything like this before? Kindly pour in your suggestions.

Hi Ramya,

With respect to DNG you can create External Links to link between Non CM and CM enabled project. Please refer the link below.

Hi Bhagath,

Thanks for your answer!
Is this "External Link To" option customized by your organization for adding external links from DNG because we don't see it here.

External Link in my case is a custom link type, you can choose any link type for web links
