Manage Jazz Users --> ERROR
Hello all !
This is my first approach to Jazz ... I can see many useful features so I want to explore more indepth.
But, I was following the "Jazz Team Server setup Guide" and got an error in the "Manage Jazz Users" :
1.- I created the new user using the admin console
2.- I registered the new user in the tomcat-users.xml
3.- Restart the tomcat
4.- When I tried to login, the browser accept the user and password, but show me in the upper right corner "You are browsing as Guest"
5.- If I click the "Login" Link I got the following message:
"There is a user id mismatch between the Jazz repository and the authentication server"
Anyone can help me ?
Thanks in advance
Jin
PD: Despite all, I installed the client and was successful to connect to the server using the ADMIN account, ever, I tried to connect to a Jabber server to without problems. So, what's the problem with the new users ?

this seems to imply the user in the database does not match the id you pass
I personaly had issues adding user using the web UI (maybe it is worth
opening a work item)
Try one thing, open the RTC client, connect to the server (possibly using
ADMIN/ADMIN as you tomcat is secured now)
Then connect to the repository and check which users are in the database
I could give you the stpe by step but
1) I do not remeber them (try to select the repository connection, right
click)
2) let us know how you find managing the sers using RTC (is that easy ? is
there another way you would prefer ?)
PS: we worked on the message a lot, but obviously it didn't help... what
message would you like to see instead ? Would
"There is a user id mismatch between the Jazz repository and the
authentication server. the userid 'jin' was not found in the server
'http://localhost:9080/jazz. Please verify that the user is indeed in the
server by connecting to the server using the Rational Team Concert client"
Would such a message help better ?

Great to hear it works
I opened 42166 for the enhancements you provided, thanks :)
I opened 42167 for the fact that adding user through the WebUI does not
work and we get no message
Thanks for the feedback :) greatly appreciated :)

At your question about "how you find managing the users using
RTC" ... Here my own ideas:
- As a Project Leader, I need an option to see all resources in my
company ( may be in other companies if I use outsourcing ). I assume
(currently I don't know) that the respository can share information
about all projects in the company.
- Then, I need to see availability of resources, to see projects in
wich them collaborate.
- Use drag & drop to invite them to my project
- In the ADD options (for team members) you must enforce to know the
userID .. may be, I want to search based on skills , don't you ?
- Another idea, you can register the technical skills of resources
even the title of the resources in the projects
- As you can see, the Project Leader requirements can vary on many
faces ( please don't care )
Thanks a lot

Thanks so much for your response !
Great on your tips !
I note that the Web Admin has a little bugs with manage users. I think that the user doesn't store in the DB because when I connect to Jazz Server using the RTC, I can't see any user previosuly created.
Then, I re-create the user (RTC - Project Area - Members - Create ) and try to login again. All works fine.
