Synchronisation between theEWM Workflow Management and the ETM Timelines

Venkatesh Bhat (29114) | asked Jul 27 '23, 3:43 a.m.

In the ETM in the test plan we have the timeline menu.

There we can select iterations or timelines, we defined in the administration menue under "Manage project timelines" This is a total manually process, but it is not synchronisble with the timelines in the engineering workflow management.

Why is the etm timelines isolated and not be connected / synchronised to the timelines of the ewm ?

There is a very long standing RFE requesting the ability of applications to share common timelines. It's had a lot of community support but doesn't look like being done any time soon.

The big problem is that timelines are defined within the project areas, which are managed by one application only. That means you would need to declare an owner of the timeline and each other application would then need to be able to retrieve and sync to it, so it would have to be something that was implemented at a much lower level like in the OSLC spec.

Iterations are specific to a project area in a specific tool. If you are looking for a built-in capability to synchronize them between proejct areas and betrween applications, please submit an RFE through the IBM Ideas portal.Or you could look at using the available public REST APIs to achieve your businbess-specific objectives - see https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Deployment/CLMProductAPILanding
