RPE - RTC Foundation contributor query native filter not working?

I'm trying to follow the guidance here:

I've configured the foundation datasource as: https://server:port/ccm/rpt/repository/foundation

Added the "query" on "Contributor"

In the native filter I've set the following, but they all fail:

itemId=${my_Variable_for_user_itemId}

itemId=_zG6I4M77EemyH8oTVQI7_w

itemId='_zG6I4M77EemyH8oTVQI7_w'

itemId="_zG6I4M77EemyH8oTVQI7_w"

Am I doing something wrong?
