KT PD (597) | asked Sep 29 '21, 4:00 a.m.

 Hi Team,

I am working on creating work item template in RTC 6.0.6,1
The restriction is showing in the document as it will support item links but not URI links,
Can you please brief me what is the difference between item link and URI link of created work item through templates.
Also, can you please guide me on restrictions and disadvantages of creating work items through template.

Thanks

 The documentation is here: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/elm/7.0.2?topic=items-using-template-create-work

As far as I know it is the only way how a project area can be customized to create a structure of linked work items and have the UI to use it.

Work item links have the form https://elm.example.com:9443/ccm/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/22 where the work item number is used. There are other links that are used that use the item UUID. These links are typically between items in different products such as work item to requirement.

There are no disadvantages using work item templates. I have not used it enough to talk about limitations.
