ETM - way to set time estimates default and roll up?

Marina Bednjanec (11) | asked Mar 04 '21, 6:36 a.m.
ETM 7.0.2:
- Is there any way to set default time estimates in artifacts like you have for weight points?
- Can you change time estimates default measure in artifacts (hours) to e.g. minutes?
- Is there a way to prevent time roll up of 8h into a day or at least change number of hours which will roll up into a day?

 Hi Marina,

- There is no provision to set default time estimates, however you can bulk update the time estimate of artifacts.
- Time estimate and unit of measurement of estimate need to be set, there is no default unit of measurement initially set.
-  Can you please elaborate on the use case of roll up?

Regards,
Karthik

Thank you Karthik for your answers.

The current time roll up (1 week = 5 days, 1 day = 8 hours) is extremely confusing for the users as the initial association to these measures wouldn't be 5 days and 8 hours.

E.g. the user enters 10h as an estimate for a TC which then rolls up to 1d 2h.

What adds to the confusion is inconsistent view of estimates across ETM e.g. in artifact or list view you see the rolled up values according to the above mentioned rules, but in the charts at the top of test plan which track the testing progress, you see hours which contribute to the estimate and time spent.

It would be a start if you could set a unified view for estimates to e.g. hours.
