Baseline naming
When creating a snapshot, all the baselines created are named based on the snapshot name and this behavior can possibly lead to ambiguity and confusion with time.
Is there a level of control that we could set to allow for greater control of the names chosen for components baselines created during a snapshot operation?
Actually, this is not only applicable to snapshot creation. It is applicable to all baseline creation use cases; it's just a bit more obvious with the snapshot creation use case.

There is no up-front API to allow this level of control when creating a snapshot, however, you can always rename a baseline or change-set after the fact.
