Workitem States not showing in Status query options

I have got a number of states (all related to 2 workflows) that are not being displayed within the list of 'States' when I try to create a new Query in RTC.

All my other custom workflows work fine.

It is just two and I can't see any difference between.

Thinking out loud..

Which states are those? Are there other states in the same state group that do display? Are you able to create the state with a slightly different name? Does it appear?

Does the workflow itself work in work items? --> In other words, is it just in the query that the two states are missing?

I'm not sure if you are able to provide a screen capture with the problematic states and how they are configured, but it might help.

Solved it.

the workitems in question somehow the assigned workflow had been done wrong, so the workflows I was missing states for were not in use.
