Where on the DNG server is the error log for the failing embedded RPE template?

Hugh Lippincott (199) | asked Sep 30 '19, 11:22 a.m.

We have built RPE 6.0.6 report templates and installed them on the DNG 6.0.6 server. They all run fine from within the RPE context, but some fail when run from within DNG when in appropriate module view and selected "Generate Report from View"'s "Select Report Type" window.  Some reports simply don't finish, some report "Report Generation Fail, Review the report data source configuration." .

We are looking for more information on the failure; ideally the log file.

You should check rrdg.log under <JTS>\server\logs. I would rather suggest debugging in RPE thick client using the document specification file created by DNG - Configure Loggers in rm/admin as mentioned in
https://rpeactual.com/2014/11/26/how-to-enable-dng-debugging-for-document-generation and you will find the .dsx file created under %temp%\rrc_reports

I found a lot of info in  rmPublish.log

Note: the report does not Fail in the RPE client, only when run from the DNG view.

It seems that the RPE client created schema that DNG cannot use and so fails.
