viewing attachment in the Team Area

We have been able to successfully add attachments on the team area but it does not seem like there is a way to view them once we have added them.

Hello,

I am not sure what you mean by viewing the images. Can you give some more details? Where do you expect to see the images?

All attachments (including the images you added) should appear as a table in the Links tab of the Team Area Editor. The contents of the attachments are not displayed in the editor.
There is no way to show an image as a thumbnail, for instance.

I want to be able to look at the contents of the files that I put in the attachment section of the Links table of the Team Area editor. Right now I can only look at the contents if I first detach to my PC harddrive (very inefficient). In all of the other RTC editors (task editor, Project area editor) I can open the attachment and view it without first putting in on my C drive. For example my project manager may wish to put a team related .xls file into the Team Editor for others to view. She can put it there but other can not view it unless they download it to their PC. Now everyone on the team must have their own copy. We liked the idea of storing Team related artifacts in the Team Area but the inefficient way of viewing the artifacats make us wonder why this option is there anyway.

Unfortunately, the UI for managing attachments is still in an unpolished
state. Currently, attachments get their biggest use through other entry
points. For example, project areas store their process description HTML
as an attachment but this is something that comes from the template and
would only be manually touched if you wanted to change that XML. Another
example is all of the workitem icons. These are also attachments on the
project area, but they're usually managed through the workitem
configuration UI.

There are a number of open workitems for improving the general flow of
managing attachments manually. A few of them are listed under this
general story for improving process attachment management:
