Linking Projects across Team Servers - Copy/Move/ work items

Hi

I wanted to move/copy/link work items in project area (PA1) on Team concert server 1 (RTC1) to project area (P2) on Team concert server 2 (RTC2).

I established the cross server communication from RTC1 to RTC 2
I also established link between PA1 to PA2 (it created a default link of type " related-to" )

I am still unable to move/copy/link work items across the project areas. I am not sure as to what needs to be done further or how do I realize the related-to link. documentation did not help

concert server 1 (RTC1) to project area (P2) on Team concert server 2
(RTC2).

Moving/copying work items across repositories is currently not supported,
only moving/copying between project areas on the same server.

Thanks, but then what is the advantage of Linking 2 different project areas on different team concert servers

Is there any linking ? which I can enable .. I was not able to do that

could you provide some information on how you managed to connect two RTC server to be able to link (e.g. Parent-Child) WI across teams hosted on different RTC servers?

I managed to setup servers "friendship" via OAuth, but when I try to link other project, the other server does not offer anything to link to...

Hi,

you have to create a link between the projects in the project area editor so that one project area knows the other.

open the project area configuration for project 1 in eclipse, go to the Links tab, in the associations box in the upper right, push Add
select some other CCM server, logon to that server

this is a project Supplying the change request, so, select Provides,
save the project area
go to the other servers project area and repeat this process

then when u want to link two workitems, select Links, Add, Add Related Change Request, select the other server and project. press save. Two one way links will be created between the two workitems

note that this is the only linktype supported across servers.. parent/child, blocks/depends, etc are not available..
