How do I disable work items from getting attached to change-

When new change-sets are created, the current work item automatically gets attached to them. How do I prevent that from happening by default?

Don't set a current work item and they won't be associated. What else does setting the current work item provide you?

It seems like you can no longer mark a work item as "In Progress" without
also changing the state of your IDE. Similarly, you can not "unset" your
IDE state without also changing the Work Item from In Progress back to New.
This is very annoying since the mapping is not right. I can have multiple
work items in progress, but the IDE only support a single "magical" work
item which is automatically associated with change sets.

"In Progress" work items should be decoupled from the one "IDE actively
working with" work item, as it was in M3 and earlier.

Is there a way to disable this feature? It has tripped us up on occasion by having the wrong work item associated with a change set. We frequently work on multiple work items and change sets concurrently and may not remember to keep track of the "current" work item.
