WebSphere issue when updating to RTC 2.0 in RAD 7.5

Curtis Schmelling (11) | asked Oct 13 '09, 11:47 a.m.
I use RTC in RAD 7.5. When I updated RTC to 2.0, the configuration for all of my WebSphere servers in RAD was disabled. There is now a red square to the left of each of the server defined in the Servers tab. I am no longer able to start the servers in RAD (although I can start them directly in the OS). I get this error when I try to start the servers in RAD:

'Starting WebSphere Application Server v6.1 at localhost' has encountered a problem.
Source locator does not exist: com.ibm.debug.wsa.WSASourceLookupDirector.

I can't edit the security information for the servers in RAD any more, either (that section has disappeared from the properties page for the servers).

I upgraded to RAD 7.5.4, RTC 2.0.0.1, and the latest fix pack level for all of the servers in RAD to see if that would fix the issue, but there was no change.

I tried deleting the servers and adding them again, but that didn't change anything.

Has this problem been encountered before? I didn't find anything that matched in a search of the forums.

Hello,
I guess that before extending RAD 7.5.4 with the RTC Client,
you should review this TechNote:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=2042&uid=swg21330083

Then:
1 - install RAD 7.5.4
2 - install the required Eclipse 3.4.2 patches as documented above
3 - install RTC 2.0.0.1 Client on top of your configuration, using IBM
Install Manager.

Hope it helps.
Eric.
