workitem creation through Email in RTC

I have seen many post and not finding the exact answer for creation of workitem via Email in RTC.

I have seen below technote for it and its still open.

Does anyone know how we can configure for workitem creation via email?

Please suggest me how I can configure it for RTC 6.0.3 version.

There is no built in capability I am aware of. There have been custom extensions that were able to do that as far as I remember. One of the answers above states some partners provided it. The last time I tried to access that site, I got a forbidden.

I see in this tech note your name mentioned and you helped him to setup this.

Is there any REST API that we can use and create the Defect workitem when email send.

Sure there are OSLC and REST methods to do that. You can google for the APIs.
In above post I helped with what I publish on https://rsjazz.wordpress.com/ and in that context you should be able to get the code running. I don't own it and don't have it running. It is not a product feature either. I am always happy to reblog if there are community mambers that want to share code/automation/results.

Ok. I just want to create workitem either via email or using REST API. No much validations required. Just create defect with summary , description and with some required fields. Can you guide me how I can achieve this ?

No, sorry. you can search in the forums, and on the internet there are examples. There is an OSLC Workshop here in the library that helps understanding the concepts. There are examples here how to use CURL etc. But you will have to find out on your own. I don't have an example unfortunately.

For the Java API I have tons of stuff: https://rsjazz.wordpress.com/2013/03/20/understanding-and-using-the-rtc-java-client-api/
