how to edit a manual script during execution with new 6.0.5 RQM functionality

Hi,

New & Noteworthy here https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-quality-manager/releases/6.0.5?p=news states "When you execute a manual test, you might need to change manual steps or add and remove them. During manual execution, users with the Save test case result permission can add, edit, and delete steps by using the row-level actions for each step. After the execution is complete, you can merge the changes back into the test script by using the Compare with Test Script Steps button available in the Result Details section.

I do not see any way to do that and not sure if this means you can edit the description and expected result during execution. Is that now possible, if so, now?

Thanks,
Brett

Hi Brett,

For the feature to work , please do two things.

1) Check whether the user you are using have all the permissions under "Save Test Case Execution Record" and "Save Test Case Result".
2) Under Manage Project Properties section, Tick the check box for option :
"Allow steps to be added and deleted, and the Description and Expected Results columns to be updated during manual test script execution" under "Execution Preferences" Section.

This also means, you can edit the description and actual result as well.

Hope this helps,

I also had to add Save Test Case Result > Execution Actions > Add Step, Delete Step, Edit Step permission to the role
