IP address change to CLM server and DB server impacts

Lior Peled (17316) | asked Mar 15 '18, 10:04 a.m.

 hi,

we have one server with all the CLM application installed on and a separate one for the db.
we have a need to perform an internal infrastructure change which will end up in changing the IP address for both applications server and db server.
the only change is in the IP address, the names of the machines remains the same during this process.

can anyone advise if such a change is possible or not and what is the crucial point in such a change?

thanks in advanced.
Lior

Since you always install the servers with a full qualified domain name which you use in the Public URI the IP address is nothing to worry about. There is a checkbox you have to check as first step of a setup that tells you that using a host name or an ip address is a no no.

If you use the IP Address to connect to the DB server, you can change the connection strings in the teamserver.properties files to fix that.

If you have an IP address in the Public URI of the CCM/QM/JTS server I would suggest to contact support as the only option to deal with that is a public URI change with all that entails.
