Clustering RTC

I have a question about RTC (and also other jazz tools) setup:
Is it possible to cluster RTC over multiple servers with WAS? So for a setup, can we just start of using one server and later on add new machines to the environment to host jazz tools in a clustered environment.
Not at this time. There is a work item on the 3.0 plan for clustering support, you might want to add your comments there.
We do have experience of running 2K+ users on a single server - was there particular reasons for clustering?
